This Driver Code of Conduct ("Code") establishes the professional, ethical, safety, and operational standards applicable to all Driver Partners using the Splitt-E Platform. Compliance with this Code is a condition of accessing and using the Platform. This Code supplements, and does not replace, the Driver Partner Agreement, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and any other applicable Splitt-E policies.

Drivers shall conduct themselves professionally, courteously, honestly, and responsibly at all times. Drivers are expected to maintain behaviour that promotes public trust in Splitt-E and contributes to a safe and respectful environment for all users.

3. Respectful Treatment of Passengers

Drivers shall treat every passenger with dignity, courtesy, patience, and respect. Abusive language, intimidation, harassment, threats, aggressive behaviour, or any form of disrespectful conduct is strictly prohibited.

4. Non-Discrimination Policy

Drivers shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, caste, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, language, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

5. Passenger Safety First

Passenger safety shall remain the highest priority during every trip. Drivers shall exercise reasonable care to ensure safe boarding, transportation, and drop-off while complying with all applicable safety requirements.

6. Compliance with Traffic Laws

Drivers shall comply with all applicable traffic laws, road safety regulations, licensing requirements, and governmental directions while operating a vehicle through the Platform.

7. Safe Driving Practices

Drivers shall operate their vehicles responsibly and shall avoid speeding, dangerous overtaking, reckless driving, distracted driving, unnecessary horn usage, road rage, or any conduct that endangers passengers or other road users.

8. Zero Tolerance for Alcohol, Drugs and Intoxication

Drivers shall not operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs, intoxicating substances, or medications that impair their ability to drive safely.

9. Vehicle Cleanliness and Maintenance

Drivers shall maintain their vehicles in a clean, hygienic, roadworthy, and mechanically safe condition. Required maintenance and repairs shall be completed promptly.

10. Personal Hygiene and Appearance

Drivers shall maintain appropriate personal hygiene and present themselves in a clean and professional manner while providing services through the Platform.

11. Identity Verification and Account Integrity

Drivers shall provide accurate identity information and maintain valid verification documents. Any change affecting verification status shall be promptly communicated to Splitt-E.

12. Prohibition on Account Sharing or Unauthorized Drivers

Drivers shall not share, transfer, lend, rent, sell, or otherwise permit another person to use their Splitt-E account. Only the verified Driver Partner approved by Splitt-E may provide services through the account.

13. Honesty and Fair Dealing

Drivers shall act honestly in all dealings with passengers and Splitt-E, including ride acceptance, fare collection, trip completion, and reporting of incidents.

14. Prohibited Conduct

Drivers shall not engage in fraud, theft, assault, violence, extortion, bribery, impersonation, harassment, criminal conduct, or any activity that violates applicable law or Platform policies.

15. Mobile Phone and Device Usage

Drivers shall avoid using mobile phones or other electronic devices while driving except where permitted under applicable law through safe hands-free functionality or when the vehicle is safely stationary.

16. Handling of Lost and Found Property

Drivers shall make reasonable efforts to return passenger property left in the vehicle and shall not intentionally retain, misuse, conceal, or dispose of such property.

17. Privacy and Confidentiality

Drivers shall respect passenger privacy and shall not misuse, disclose, record, copy, sell, or otherwise exploit personal information obtained through the Platform except where required by law or expressly authorized.

18. Emergency Situations and Incident Reporting

Drivers shall promptly report serious accidents, criminal incidents, threats to safety, emergencies, or other significant events affecting passengers, drivers, or the Platform through available reporting channels.

19. Cooperation with Splitt-E Investigations

Drivers shall cooperate fully and honestly with reasonable investigations relating to complaints, accidents, fraud, policy violations, regulatory matters, or legal proceedings.

20. Reporting Misconduct

Drivers are encouraged to promptly report suspected fraud, safety risks, criminal conduct, policy violations, or misconduct involving passengers, other drivers, merchants, or third parties.

21. Violations and Disciplinary Action

Failure to comply with this Code may result in warnings, temporary suspension, permanent removal from the Platform, withholding of incentives or payouts where legally permissible, reporting to competent authorities where required, or any other action permitted under applicable law and Platform policies.

22. Appeals and Review

Where permitted under applicable law or Platform policy, drivers may submit a request for review of certain enforcement actions. Submission of a review request does not guarantee reinstatement or reversal of any decision.

23. Amendments to the Code

Splitt-E may amend this Code from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law, safety requirements, operational practices, or business needs. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Code, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

24. Acknowledgement and Acceptance

By registering as a Driver Partner or continuing to use the Splitt-E Platform, drivers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Driver Code of Conduct.

Additional Operational Standards

25. Dashcam Compliance

Where dashcam usage is required by Splitt-E or applicable law, drivers shall ensure that the device remains operational throughout trips, shall not intentionally disable, obstruct, tamper with, or manipulate recordings, and shall preserve relevant footage when reasonably requested for safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

26. Ride Integrity and Platform Exclusivity

Drivers shall not encourage passengers to cancel Platform bookings, negotiate off-platform rides, accept direct cash arrangements intended to bypass the Platform, or otherwise circumvent Splitt-E's payment systems, safety features, or policies.

27. GPS and Platform Integrity

Drivers shall not manipulate GPS signals, falsify ride locations, create fake trips, misuse promotional offers, artificially increase trip distance or duration, use unauthorized software, or engage in any activity intended to deceive passengers or Splitt-E.

28. Parcel Delivery Standards

Drivers providing delivery services shall handle parcels with reasonable care and shall not intentionally damage, open, inspect, tamper with, delay, misuse, or misappropriate any parcel.

Drivers shall not knowingly transport prohibited, illegal, hazardous, counterfeit, or restricted goods except where expressly permitted by applicable law and Splitt-E policies.

29. Women's Safety and Respect

Drivers shall respect all passenger safety preferences, including women-only ride features where available. Inappropriate comments, unwanted conversation of a sexual nature, physical contact, staring, photographing, recording without authorization, intimidation, or harassment of any passenger is strictly prohibited.

30. Prohibition on Unauthorized Passengers

Drivers shall not carry friends, relatives, companions, or any unauthorized individual during an active ride or delivery unless expressly permitted under applicable law or Splitt-E policies or specifically authorized by the passenger.

31. Protection Against False Complaints

Splitt-E is committed to ensuring fairness for both passengers and drivers. Where appropriate, drivers shall be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to complaints. Splitt-E may consider available evidence, including GPS records, communications, ride history, dashcam footage (where available), photographs, witness statements, and other relevant information before reaching a decision.

Nothing in this clause limits Splitt-E's authority to take immediate interim measures where reasonably necessary to protect user safety, comply with legal obligations, or preserve the integrity of the Platform.

32. Cooperation During Safety Investigations

Drivers shall promptly provide truthful information, relevant documents, recordings, and other reasonably requested assistance during investigations relating to safety incidents, fraud, customer complaints, regulatory inquiries, accidents, insurance claims, or legal proceedings. Failure to cooperate without reasonable justification may constitute a violation of this Code.
